Often when it comes to the end of the working week, you’re after a proper pick-me-up tune and that’s exactly what Australian artist Banoffee is giving us with alt-pop romper ‘Bubble’. As the LA-based, Melbourne-originator tells us “‘Bubble’ is my combat to bullies. It’s for the underdogs when they lose sight of their power. Being different, being unheard or unseen is so dispiriting. I hope in those moments something like this song is a little pick me up. There’s power in difference. Don’t mistake vulnerability as weakness. What a typical doozy we all make.” This empowering anthem is a real singalong moment, giving the listener room to expose their vulnerability while lifting their spirits. It also offers something a little different to those who don’t love straight-up pop, as ‘Bubble’ is fused with synths and playful samples, edging it just into that alternative realm.
